As evidenced by the parking spaces available, lots of people. Believe me...lots of people!
There were about a thousand people in line at Barnes & Noble today. OK, fine...maybe 25. But the line had two bends in it, so what I'm saying is there was much spending being done.
And Best Buy had one of those amusement park, back-and-forth, line-herding contraptions set up. I hoped I'd get to ride a roller coaster when I got to the front, but all I got to do was give them some money. What a bummer of a ride.
Both lines, however, moved expeditiously (thanks, Morgan Freeman in Lean On Me). Made my shopping experience almost pleasant. Oh, and those memory cards I thought were such a steal from a week and a half ago? Found a better deal on even bigger ones. (yes, I shopped almost as much for myself as anyone else.) Can you say Merchandise Return?
On a sad note, I lost a pair of boots today. As I was walking through Best Buy, I thought I felt something stuck to the bottom of my right foot, and when I looked down, I instead saw half of the inch-thick sole flapping away from the rest of the boot.
I've had them for more years than I can count (15? 17?), but I guess this year they had the snow kicked or tromped off of them one too many times, and surrendered to the elements.R.I.P., K-Swiss, size 13s.

I was so moronic I decided to drive down to Madison on my day off Friday after clearing the remains of another snow dumping off my driveway. Forty-one and 151 were fine, 26 wasn't that great.
I needed a couple things to supplement my on-line purchases and specifically something golf related for my father with a Badger theme that i couldn't seem to find in The Valley.
East Towne Mall was fruitless for me. And after that i gave up and headed to Champ!'s. Where, we cleaned up and headed back to East Towne Mall for our inaugural visit to the latest BW's. It's nice. It's big and it's smoke free and The Wolffe came!!!
From there we went to Cloud 9 for a couple and then the next thing you know it's Champ!, myself, a local and the bartender at the Black Bear til 2:30. Then Champ! introduced me to HULU.
I was up until 4:00 watching The Fall Guy ( http://www.hulu.com/the-fall-guy ). Oh, the memories.
Then at 9:00 i headed back out and had success at Golf Galaxy...unfortunately it's out near the West Towne Mall......
I'm done now. Only thing left to do is wrap..........uuuuugggghhhhh.
I too mourn the loss of your boots. When i was younger getting new shoes was fun, now i wish the ones i had and are broken in would last forever...
