Quotable

This sorta qualifies as a squib, and I haven't pulled out the graphic in months. So there ya go.

Mark Cuban had a great quote on his blog several days ago, that he called his new favorite saying. I haven't been able to find out to whom it's attributed...but when a quote's good, it doesn't matter who said it, right?

"Today is the youngest you will ever be. Act like it."

"It is better to be quotable
than to be honest."

  1. Obviously Cuban has been to the Greater Upper Post Lake Area!!!

Is he coming 4th weekend? Are the County Crows coming? When are you heading up?

  2. Yes, TheKid...we do a fine job of acting, um, young. (young..immature.....
    to-may-to, to-mah-to.)

Haven't locked Duritz in to a firm Boathouse Concert Series date yet. Oh, and I haven't won the lottery yet, either. There's always that first hurdle to clear.

I'm considering a leisurely drive up during daylight hours on Thursday.

  3. What's a squib?

And, sure, I'll act young. I'm sorta good at acting.

  4. What, you don't have dictionaries where you are, SBW? :O)

I think I found the word a couple years ago on a page-a-day, word-a-day calendar.

It's a firecracker. (which serves no purpose for me, except that I was able to put a little firecracker in the graphic when I made it. whoo hoo.)

But it's also a "short news item, or filler," or "a short humorous or satiric writing or speech."

And when I got into blogging, I thought, "Hey, that's what I can do on Sundays...instead of six or seven hundred words, I'll just post a little filler, and I'll call it "The Sunday Squib."

So I made that graphic, and then...used it a handful of times. It never exactly became a regular feature. Oops.

  5. Okay. I thought it was a small fowl that you order at fancy restaurants. Thanks for the info. When it comes to firecrackers, I know a lot because the teens in my neighborhood like to throw them behind my building every night this time of year from 11pm-2am.

No, I don't have a dictionary. I'm not that into spelling.
